JUST LIKE MUSIC......

BIG L REST IN PEACE......

THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WAS TALKIN ABOUT WAT TYPE OF PEOPLE HARLEM BREEDS, IT MADE ME WANT TO ALSO DISCUSS A REGION IN NEW YORK THAT IS THE MOST KNOWN AND VISITED BUT AT THE SAME TIME WHEN IT COMES TO TAKIN US SERIOUS AS FAR AS MUSIC GOES WERE KINDA GET PUSHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL...
I LOOK AT BROOKLYN THEY HAVE JAY-Z, BIGGIE, FOXY, LIL' KIM, FABOLOUS, STATEN ISLAND HAS THE WU TANG CLAN AND ALL OF THEM ARE DOPE ARTIST (I LOVE GHOSTFACE), BX HAS FAT JOE, REMY, CORY GUNZ IS ON THE COME UP, KRS (MY FAVORITE), QUEENS HAS NAS,
50, AZ, N.O.R.E. THOSE BOROUGHS AND ARTIST ARE MAKING IT HAPPEN LIKE IF ANY ARTIST IN THOSE REGIONS JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE A SLIGHT DRY SPELL SOMEONE ELSE IS PICKING IT UP AND RUNNING WITH THE TORCH. HARLEM AS FAR AS THE MUSIC WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET ON THAT CARRIAGE BUT WE SEEM TO KEEP SLIPPIN OFF. SINCE MASE IT HASNT REALLY BEEN A CRAZY HARLEM MANIA, WE HAD THAT SHORT RUN WHEN THE HARLEM SHAKE CAME OUT, THEN THAT DIED DOWN. MASE MADE HIS RETURN PEOPLE WERE SO HAPPY, U SHOULDA SEEN MO-BARZ CUZ HE LOVES MASE TO DEATH, BUT EVEN HE WAS DISSAPOINTED WHEN THAT FELL THRU. CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP BROKE IN, YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HARLEM WE WERE HAPPY LIKE "YAYYY" WE BACK!! THAT BECAME ILL FADED. IT JUST STARTED BECOME MUSIC THAT WOULD BE RECORDED FOR FUN THEN IT WOULD JUST HAPPEN TO MAKE THE RADIO CUZ YOU KNO THE KIDS LIKE IT, OR THATS JUST WHATS IN RIGHT NOW. FOR A VERY LONG TIME HARLEM HASNT HAD THAT RUN AND ITS STARTING TO SINK INTO PEOPLES MINDS THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO BRING IT BACK, AND I REALLY BELIEVE I AM THAT PERSON BUT I WANT OTHER PEOPLE INSTEAD OF COMMENTING NEGATIVELY TO GET ON THE BALL AND JOIN ME IN THIS QUEST OF WORLD DOMINATION AND BRINGIN HARLEM BACK TO ITS FEET...
GOOGLE ME I LOVED IT, BUT I HAVE SOME DEEPER WAY MORE AWESOME MUSIC COMING ON MY ALBUM BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU. IM A YOUNG LADY WITH ALOT OF SUBSTANCE I HAVE SONGS THATS GONNA MAKE U CRY, AND SERIOUSLY ZONE U OUT WEATHER UR IN THE CAR, IPOD, SHOWER WHEREVER... I LOVE HARLEM I CANT GET ENOUGH OF IT, ITS BIGGER THAN US WANTING TO DRESS AND LOOK FOR "FLOW" ALL DAY LONG..DO ANY OF U EVER GET THAT FEELING THAT WHEREVER U LIVE U CAN PUT YOUR HOOD ON THE MAP EVEN FOR THE 1ST TIME?? WELL IF YES THEN WE FEEL THE SAME WAY CUZ I BELIEVE IN MYSELF, AND I BELIEVE IN MY TOWN... HARLEMS HISTORY OF COCKINESS, & ATTITUDES ALONE WONT LET SOME LISTENERS EVEN GIVE US A CHANCE TO HEAR OUR MUSIC SOME PEOPLE IN HARLEM FEEL. ITS NOT THAT PEOPLE JUST WANNA HEAR GOOD MUSIC. THE DANCE MUSIC IS COOL WE NEED THAT TO JUST HAVE FUN AND FEEL GOOD. WHAT ABOUT THOSE YOUNG OR OLD WHO WANNA SIT BACK AND RELATE TO THE ARTIST, WE ALL CAN RELATE TO DANCING, I LOVE DANCING IM A DANCER!!...LOL..BUT I ALSO FEEL PAIN, I ALSO LOST LOVED ONES, I ALSO CAME FROM CRACK INFESTED NEIGBORHOODS FILLED WITH CRACK INFESTED PEOPLE, HALLWAYS THAT SMELL LIKE PISS, MURDERS WHERE KIDS WERE KIDNAPPED AND HAD THEIR FINGERS CHOPPED OFF AND LEFT UNDER A SINK IN MCDONALDS PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR "THE REAL".. TALK ABOUT IT TREAT THE FAN AS IF HE OR SHE IS YOUR SHRINK AND LET IT ALL OUT.... SOME PEOPLE THAT LISTEN TO MUSIC HAVE A GOOD GIFT OF "LISTENING" AND COMPREHENDING, THEY JUST DONT WANNA LISTEN TO SUMTHIN UNREAL, OR IRELEVANT..IM ONLY 17 SO PEOPLE EXPECT ME TO RAP & SING ABOUT CERTAIN THINGS A GIRL MY AGE GOES THRU. IMA KID I EAT CEREAL, AND WATCH CARTOONS, BUT I ALSO GO THRU IT AT TIME AS A YOUNG LADY THATS BLACK, I KNO MY LADIES FEEL ME..SEND ME A COMMENT IF U KNO WHERE IM COMING FROM...LOL..HARLEM HAS A GOOD TOURIST ATTRACTION RATE, KNOWN RESTURANTS, KNOWN FOR THE BASKETBALL, KNOWN FOR THE AFRICAN ARTS & CULTURE, KNOWN FOR THE STYLE & FASHION, THEY EVEN ARE KNOWN FOR THE LEGENDARY DRUG DEALERS FROM THE 80'S LIKE COME ON...SO LETS ADD ONE MORE TO THE EQUATION AND BE KNOWN FOR THAT GOOD MUSIC ONCE AGAIN...U GOT MASE, BIG L,DOUG E FRESH, MCGRUFF, ALICIA KEYS, DIDDY, LOON,
CAM'RON,
THAT HAS PAVED, AND IS NOW PAVING THE WAY. SO NOW THE TORCHES ARE PASSED ON TO ARTIST LIKE CHARLES HAMILTON, JAE MILLZ, YOUNG B, SQUARE OFF,
MO-BARZ AND MYSELF. ITS JUST THAT NOW WE HAVE TO DO IT RIGHT OR WE NEED NOT DO IT AT ALL... I LOVE YOU GUYS SEE YOU 2MORROW....

aye gurlie..jus want;d to stop by and show ya blog mad luhv..i feel u when u say u want to put harlem on tha map and move forward and create a movement and bring harlem with u. i was born in raised in Staten Island and when wu-tang came out in tha 90;s tha buzz they had on tha island was CRAZY!! BUT still staten island didn;t have as much success as tha other 5 boroughs.im proud of where i cum from. i think it made me who i am. I always had major respect for harlem and tha history it had. tha music and style that came out of harlem(i think) influenced tha rest of tha city on how we dressed, tawk;d. harlem( i feel) has a pulse. its so alive when ur there and if ur on tha outside its like ur waitin for tha next BIG thing to come out of harlem or tha lastest trend or whateva. but now i live in VA and i can honestly say harlem is look;d upon down here as like a place that is boomin everyday. i can see it in tha way they dress. so with that being said i support u 100% with tha movement u wanna continue in harlem and everything u wanna do and that everything that came outta of harlem was HOTT..or was a star..so keep doin ya thing.tha rest of tha surrounding cities in tha distance is feelin tha vibe.

I don't have time to type what I really wanna to type . [ have class ] but I do wanna say I feel you , although I am not from harlem . But from newyork . [ not even the city parts , only the subs ] I still know what your coming from . And its interesting that your letting it be known that you are truly passionate , it is time [ like everyone knows ] that we gain some more passionate people so that their music can reach us and its better for us to listen to someone else’s struggle . To be honest I'm tired of the ' fly this and fly that ' . Everyone's been so fly , its like how much flier can you get ? Anydwaynewayne I really hope I get a chance to support you when your album comes out .

I already know that you're gonna put Harlem on just be the love/hate relationship that the media as with you. Your pictures are everywhere, you're in ALL the magazines yet there are MADD sites that hate on you(MTO...SMH!!!). They did the same thing to Rihanna (some are still hating) and she is THAT BITCH right now. All you have to do now is put out some CRACK music and make them feel you. Harlem has your back regardless.

Well first i wanna start off letting you know two things...the first being that there is way more to be found in Brooklyn than JUST rapping and two being that you are a big role model to alot of ppl including myself...when i first heard your google me joint a while back...at a time when me and my ppl was on the block doing nothing we bumped ya shyt off of Hot 9 and it really motivated me and my ppl to try and become more than what we were....the climax of the song mostly(on the cover of the magazine...and so on and so on..) cuz thats where most of us are tryna be but sometimes...obstacles and circumstance won't allow us to...
i guess it's a black thing huh...
well....we as blacks...were way sophisticated way before colleges...and creative way before eve ate the apple in the garden...
saying that that i wanna show my role model what she inspired me to go for hearstrong....

NOW i can say I'm a filmmaker/spoken word artist/Pioneer of a new dance genre called "Mutations"

and i actually filmed two clips
that day when we were on the block doing nothing to your two joints
google me and swag and one joint seperate from yours...
check them out....the links are below....email me and let me kno what u think hun...

Yeah thats deep Teyana! I feel where your coming from. Being of our age "17" it is hard to get a point across to the people because like you said they only expect certain music from us. Most definately we want to hear more from you. Whether you know it of not "Google Me" and "Traffic Stop" is blazing through my hood here is Salisbury, North Carolina. You do have that impact to put out music that we want to hear and listen to that explains life and what you and or we as "Teens" have been or IS going through. Believe me when i say it Teyana, the kids are watching you. I put this on everything the other day we went shopping with my mom and my little sister saw a rope chain and she put it on and just broke out dancing and singing "Google Me" it was crazy. Your an amazing singer/rapper/dancer and we do want to hear that real side of you.

Hit me back,

Teyana ... Umm LMAO i love that you said what you said about google me because i had did a blog about you when you was spitting with the face off fellas ...and i was like if she can spit this [and the swagg/aura of it was bananas] why is she making google me??
i know the industry has its way of force feeding you and making you put out [fan friendly] music ...but thats not what us hip hop heads want anymore we want MUSIC!! chicken noodle soup ..ok, harlem shake, ok but when we goona get music not for us to dance to but where we can listen and be like this is a CLASSIC!!
and even though im a brooklynite TO MY HEART and say biggie better than pac and aint nobody seeing hova right now i would LOVE for harlem to come back from this LONG drought

Hey Teyana. I've been on your friends list for fucking ever on MySPace but this is the first time I chosen to "interact." I'm not lazy I just don't be thinking this shit is real sometimes but I believe you. I was reading your last blog (I've read all of your blogs)and I feel you like 200%. I'm from Chicago and I believe the industry doesn't take Chicago talent serious. I dance, I rap and I write. I've been studying my crafts for yearssss Teyana and when I go try to do something it's like people don't pay attention JUST because I'm from Chicago. Chicago has given the industry some fucking spice too, you know what I mean. Damnit we got Common, Kanye, Shawnna, Twista... some of the baddest ass MC's. I be mad a hell when people try to play Chicago or act like we ain't got talent. You know I do girl. Like I was looking at this one episode of Making the Band a LONG ass time ago and P. Diddy came to Chicago. When he was on camera he said, "Aight people. We're in Chicago. I don't know why! But lets give them a chance." I was like "ERR!" The look on my face was grotesque. You should have seen me. Anyways, another, the music with substance. Yeah I'm a dancer and I like shit I can bounce and get jiggy too but I feel like a lot of artist are turning my brain to mush when their song comes on the radio. I believe you can still make sensible music AND sell millions AND have people rockin to yo shit. Kanye is a good example of that. You know, that's why I respect artists like Janet and Michael because if you listen to a lot of their music there's a message behind it but the videos and the rhythms be so sick everybody in the world be trying to dance to they shit in every talent show, showcase, block party, whatever! You hear me? Man I got some more on my mind but my finger tips cold as hell. Ask me how that happens! LOL. Aight Teyana. I'll be back sometime to comment on the other blogs. If you have time hit me up on Myspace. myspace.com/tutu_muzik or myspace.com/thesoundsoftutu. You know the copy and paste fiasco. Do what it do. Kisses. Peace T!

It really is hard not really for Harlem to get on the map but just to stay there. Harlem is now more notorious for it's fashion and dances, than for its music.

We're happy to see that you're stepping up to the challenge!

I'm glad you had a breakdown of all the artists that have come from those different areas, because I don't think I knew where all of them were from, or got some mixed up. And I think that Harlem should be on the map musically just like these other places. I'm actually kinda shocked it's not..

I'm from Nashville, TN AKA "The Country Music Capitol of the World" LOL, but it's also known as "Music City" and there's plenty of artists who come here to record. We have an area downtown called Music Row where there's lots of recording studios. 112 actually recorded some of their songs from their Part III album here. I'm good for throwin out random facts! LOL. There's billions of country music stars that come from outta here, but as far as BLACK artists, the one that always comes up 1st is Young Buck. He's still around and he does stuff for the community, but he had his lil moment and now he's just kinda chillin. Maybe because of the drama that popped off with him and 50, I dunno. But it's not a lot of Black artists that come outta here. Kem (who sings "Love Calls" for those of u who don't know) was born here too. And it's crazy to me cuz I swear everybody wanna be a rapper. I'm not knockin it, but everbody can't be a rapper, u just have to be blessed with those skills, but as many ppl that I know that wanna rap or sing, nobody's comin out to be the next big thing from here, and I'd like to see that change.

And for the record, I cannot sing, even though I try to in the car and when I do karaoke. LOL. But I have GREAT respect for you Teyana, and all the other great artists out there who can sing, rap, whatever! And "Swagg" was on the soundtrack to my spring break trip to DC in March...LOL! That song is hella sexy!!
